Effective September 2020 with a year to fall into compliance, the Age Appropriate Design Code of Practice (AADCOP) from the ICO, is an extension of the Data Protection Act 2018 that affects providers of information society services that are likely to be used by children. With penalties equivalent to the GDPR, this is another strong reason to attack your data privacy needs in the form of defaults. Never store or transact in clear text and any data sharing or unmasking should always be deliberate, monitored and compliant.
